“I only need three pages” can mean two different jobs: keep those pages in a new document, or remove three unwanted pages from the original. Starting in the right tool avoids doing the selection backwards.
Use Split PDF to save the pages you want. Use Delete Pages to mark the pages you want gone. Use Organize when the order also needs to change.
How to do it
- Choose what the selection means. In Delete Pages, selected thumbnails say Will be removed. In Split, Pick pages and Page ranges describe what goes into the output. Read the result page count before downloading.
- Set the pages. Choose thumbnails for a visual selection, or enter a range such as 2–5. Split can combine ranges into one PDF or save them as separate parts. Organize also offers Earlier and Later buttons when dragging is inconvenient.
- Download and check the result. The download action creates the files. Several outputs come in a ZIP. Open the resulting PDF and confirm its first page, last page and page count before sharing.
Extract a section without deleting the source
For a chapter or a signed appendix, choose its page range in Split. Combine ranges puts several selections into one output. Turn it off when each selection should be a separate file.
Your source file remains unchanged. The downloaded copy can still lose document-wide features such as bookmarks or form behavior, so check those separately when they matter.
Remove the same pages from several PDFs
Add PDFs opens a batch instead of mixing the documents together. The same page numbers apply to each source, and each receives its own output. The editor keeps its current draft when you go back.
Files missing a requested page are skipped with an explanation. Delete Pages also refuses to remove every page: a usable result must contain at least one.
Split by size when an attachment limit matters
A size limit divides pages into separate documents; it does not cut a page into fragments. If one page is already too large, raise the limit or compress the PDF first.
Splitting and compression solve different problems. Download settings can optionally compress each output, but neither operation guarantees a particular file size for every document.
Page removal is not redaction
Removing a page excludes it from this page-based output. It is not a guarantee that the same information is absent from other pages, comments, attachments or metadata.
If you are sharing a sensitive document, inspect the completed copy. Metadata cleaning can remove supported hidden information, but it is not a replacement for reviewing visible content or applying proper redaction.
