A document can look fine until you reach the one scan that is sideways. Turning your screen—or rotating the view in a PDF reader—does not necessarily save a corrected document.
Rotate PDF saves the page orientation in a new copy. Turn the affected thumbnails, check them, and download. There is no separate Rotate-then-Download step.
How to do it
- Open the PDF. Choose one PDF for a page preview. You can also add PDFs from a ZIP. The original stays on your device.
- Turn the pages that need it. Use Left or Right on an individual page. The page controls also let you turn all pages, odd pages, even pages or a range. Check the thumbnail after the change; a page that arrived rotated needs a turn relative to how it currently looks.
- Download the corrected copy. Download PDF applies the rotations and saves a new file. Compression is off by default. Open Download settings only if you also need a smaller copy.
One bad scan, or the same problem in every file?
For one document, the thumbnails make it easy to see which pages need a turn. For several documents with the same issue, Add PDFs opens a batch. The same page numbers and rotations apply to each file.
A PDF without the selected pages is reported individually; it does not stop other files. Back to editor returns to the draft you were editing. If every document needs a different fix, handle them individually rather than applying one batch rule.
Why it can still look wrong
Page rotation turns the whole page. It does not straighten a tilted scan, recognize which way text should face, or rotate one picture independently of the rest of the page.
If a scan is slightly crooked rather than exactly sideways, you need a deskew or image-editing workflow. Check the actual downloaded file instead of relying on a PDF reader’s temporary view rotation.
Keep text and quality in mind
Rotation itself does not turn the page into an image. Optional compression is a separate operation. A target size is a goal, not a guarantee; converting pages to images requires your explicit choice and makes their text no longer selectable.
Changing a signed PDF changes its bytes. Preserve the signed original if its signature matters. Page orientation is not evidence that a document was forged or edited at a particular time.
