When you need to merge PDFs
Scattered documents are harder to share, harder to archive, and easier to lose. Here's when combining them makes sense:
Client deliverables
Combine a proposal, contract, and appendices into one professional package instead of sending three attachments.
Expense reports
Merge receipts, invoices, and the expense form into a single PDF for accounting.
Research & reference
Combine journal articles, notes, and citations into one searchable document.
Application packets
Merge your resume, cover letter, portfolio, and references for job or school applications.
What you can do
Drag to reorder
Grab any file and move it to change the page order in your final document.
Remove files
Changed your mind? Remove any file from the list before merging.
Preview pages
See thumbnail previews of each PDF so you know exactly what you're combining.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a limit to how many PDFs I can merge?
No hard limit. You can merge dozens of files. The practical constraint is browser memory — for best performance, keep the combined size under 50MB. Very large merges might slow down on older devices.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not directly. If a PDF is encrypted, you'll need to remove the password first (using Adobe Acrobat or a similar tool). Once the file is unprotected, it merges normally.
Will bookmarks and links be preserved?
Basic document structure is preserved. However, complex features like bookmarks, internal hyperlinks, and form fields may not transfer perfectly. This is a limitation of browser-based PDF processing.
Does merging affect quality?
No. Merging is lossless — we copy page objects directly without re-encoding. Image resolution, text sharpness, and vector graphics remain identical to the source files.
