Somewhere along the way, editing a PDF became a maze of paywalls, server uploads, and account requirements. We’re building the tools we wished existed.
Why this exists
You know the drill. You need to quickly edit a PDF property or remove some metadata before sharing. You search online and find tools that either upload your files to unknown servers, require account creation, or hide basic features behind paywalls.
We got tired of that. So we built what we needed — PDF tools that run entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device. No accounts, no uploads, no nonsense.
Lyonite isn’t a venture-backed startup chasing growth metrics. It’s a focused toolkit. We do one thing — PDF tools — and we do it well.
“Well” is a word every site on this list uses, so we publish the measurements instead. In August 2026 we built a test file with a GPS-tagged photo, a named reviewer’s comment and an embedded script hidden in it, ran it through seven metadata removers, and published what came back. Ours failed too, until we fixed it. The test file and the checker are public, so you can run them on us.

We do PDFs and nothing else. That is a deliberate limit — it is the only way ten tools all stay good instead of fifty being mediocre.

Your PDFs never leave your browser. Everything is processed locally on your own device. We can't see your documents because they never touch our servers.

No upload progress bars. No 'processing' screens. Everything happens in milliseconds because it's running on your own device.
Free, with no cap
Every tool is free, with no daily limit and no account. Your files are processed by your own computer, so there is no server bill to pass on to you.
No dark patterns

Few tools, done properly
We'd rather have 5 excellent PDF tools than 50 mediocre ones. Every feature is tested, polished, and built to last.

A PDF feature you wish existed, a bug, a file one of our tools got wrong, or a number in our tests you think is unfair — all of it goes to the same address, and it is read by the people who wrote the code.
You get a reply within 48 hours. If you found something we got wrong, we publish the correction with the date and the credit on it.
