Which image formats can I use?

JPG and PNG. Other formats are skipped with a message rather than silently dropped. HEIC from an iPhone is not supported — export or share those as JPG first.

Will my images be re-compressed?

No. JPGs are embedded exactly as they are, so nothing is re-encoded and no quality is lost. PNGs are embedded losslessly, which keeps transparency but can make the PDF larger than the images were.

What does Match each image do?

It makes every page exactly the size of the picture on it, with no borders and no scaling. Choose A4 or US Letter instead if the result needs to print on standard paper; the image is then centred and scaled to fit without distorting it.

What to expect

Nothing is re-compressed

JPGs are embedded exactly as they are — the bytes go into the PDF untouched, so the pages look identical to the originals and no quality is lost twice. PNGs are embedded losslessly, which keeps transparency but can make the PDF noticeably larger than the images were. If size matters more than fidelity, run the result through Compress PDF — the file stays loaded, so it is one click away.

Page size and orientation

Match each image gives every page exactly the dimensions of its picture — no borders, no scaling, no letterboxing, and portrait and landscape shots keep their own shapes. Choose A4 or US Letter when the result has to print on standard paper; each image is then centred and scaled to fit without being distorted, and you can add a margin.

Formats that will not work

HEIC — the default on recent iPhones — is not supported, and neither are TIFF, WebP or GIF. Files that cannot be used are skipped with a message rather than silently dropped. For HEIC, sharing the photos to yourself usually converts them to JPG on the way out.

Common questions

Can I add more images after starting?

Yes. There is an add control under the thumbnails, and you can drop more onto the page at any time. New images join the end and can be dragged into place.

Can I reorder without dragging?

Yes. Every thumbnail has Back and Forward buttons underneath it, which work by keyboard and on touch screens where dragging is awkward.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The PDF is assembled locally by your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and closing the tab removes everything from memory.
